[CRC] End of Week 3

Today is Friday, August 10, 2007. It is also the final day of CRC Machinima Camp's 3rd week! This was an exciting and very interesting week. It has had it's ups and downs but the campers strongly pulled through to the end. So far, nine students have handed in their storyboards; all the storyboards are posted here but to see the full images please visit Global Kids' Flickr!

So, this week, the campers continued to work on their storyboards and their sets. It is great to see their storyboards along with the sets they have built because it really allows you to envision what their final product may look like; for example, if you look at bbelevenslashsixtytwo Ayres' Storyboard at the scene where the child is going to work:

The store that bbelevenslashsixtytwo built looks like:

We still need storyboards from some of the campers, but they are so exited to film that I am almost positive that they will get it done quickly. This week was slightly delayed by some Second Life problems, since on Wednesday, Second Life was down when the campers were supposed to begin Camp. However, some of the campers managed to get on and put some finishing touches on their sets.

Also, most of the campers have already finished with their storyboards, and their sets. So yesterday, some of them began to film! I got to film two scenes from Lucky Figtree's movie.

That is a picture of Lucky's scene; that is the school hallway (lockers on the right), and those are some of great TSL residents who came to the rescue to be Lucky's extras/ other students! Although I began off with some technical issues, it all came together well at the end. In addition to that, I even went onto filming bbelevenslashsixtytwo for his Machinima with Tabitha's help. The only problem I can think of with the filming is the fact that the mouse actually appears in the filming...and when you try to focus the mouse on a person, it is actually visible on the footage. However, it is not that much of a big deal. Yesterday went pretty well, and I would have to say it was pretty successful as well! Today, in camp, we will continue the filming and I am sure that we can get a lot done! The campers have been great when it comes down to acting and directing their films, and I am eager to see their final product!
