[HMDS] Word Spill Comes to GK Island
Storm convinced me today to add Word Spill to GK Island, for he and others to run. Word Spill is a fun game in which players compete to make words out of letters. After exploring the issue we decided to give it a shot.
I bought it ($8 US) and gave Storm control over the board. Storm is interested in seeing more activities like this on GK Island, to bring people over. Here's what he told me:
Storm Basiat: well it will be more fun for the people to come on and play some spelling games to get there spelling better and i think it would be intresting to see this land be so so poupler like the other sims like mecca and stuff
Storm Basiat: and i can become a instructor in a few days
You: What does it mean for you to become an instructor?
Storm Basiat: i can get events announced to the whole of the teen grid
Storm Basiat: and i get paid 500L for every event i do
You: nice
Storm Basiat: aswlel like to get the gird more fun
You: So like, you could announce and get paid for running an event on GK island?
Storm Basiat: indeed
It was interesting for me to learn how Linden Labs can simultaneously support the teens to take on leadership roles and encourage the creation of resident-led activities at the same time.

Thanks for buying the board Barry! You seem interested in Instructors. See below this message posted by Blue Linden in the Second Life forums.
TSL INSTRUCTORS GROUP
Do you love to teach other Residents how to do interesting, fun things in-world? If so, you may be interested in becoming a TSL Instructor. We encourage all kinds of events, but if you host an approved educational event, we'll give you L$500 per class!
We currently support a wide range of events where Residents share their knowledge to help other Residents make the most of their Second Life. Class examples: SL Basics, Building, Scripting, Texture Design, Group Tools, Land 101, Using the SL Interface, Starting a Business, How to use Animations, Avatar Customization, and Intro to Particles.
Inworld send an notecard with your name to Blue Linden or email blue@lindenlab.com to apply and we'll let you know if you've been approved to teach a class in SL. If you are, you'll need to send the full description of your class as it will appear in the Events Forum for approval. Then you're ready to start teaching!
Classes should be free and open to all residents, and should not promote a particular product, location, or enterprise. Please don't apply for support from more than one account per person.
